Weaving Magic with ESB

It ain�t easy to be the Boss, unless you�re Bruce Springsteen��You�re Born to Run� the music industry. In October 2007, Springsteen and his E Street Band joined forces to release Magic, a much anticipated album since The Rising, which came in the wake of the devastating 9/11 attacks. The record chronicles the events and gives a voice to the affected people.

Bruce Springsteen has released 13 original albums over the course of his career which most impressively secured him a spot in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1999. At the 50th Grammy Awards in 2007, the Boss reaffirmed his position, snagging three awards for Magic (notably, Best Rock Song for �Radio Nowhere�)

With Bruce, that is hardly magic at all�just the life of a creative genius �Born in the U.S.A,� well, New Jersey (to be exact).

Bruce Timeline

	1949:Bruce is born in Freehold, New Jersey.
	1965:Bruce joins his first band.
	1973:Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band release their first album, "Greetings from Asbury Park, N.J."
	1973:"The Wild, the Innocent and the E Street Shuffle," is released.
	1975:Bruce�s �Born to Run� album is released.
	1975:Bruce is the first entertainer to appear on both Newsweek and Time magazines simultaneously.
	1976:Bruce is involved in a legal battle with then-manager Mike Appel, which forbids him to record with producer and future manager, Jon Landau.
	1977:A settlement is reached and Bruce begins working on �Darkness on the Edge of Town.� It�s released a year later.
	1978:Bruce and the E Street Band go on their first major tour, playing 109 cities.
	1980:"The River� is Bruce�s fifth album, which stay on top of the charts for four straight weeks.
	1982:Springsteen releases an acoustic, folk-inspired album, �Nebraska.�
	1984:�Born in the U.S.A.� is released and becomes one of the biggest albums of the eighties, selling 15 million copies.
	1985:“Live: 1975-1985” released, the biggest selling box set ever at the time.
	1985:Marries Julianne Phillips. They divorce in 1989.
	1987:�Tunnel of Love� becomes his fourth No.1 album.
	1988:Bruce tours with Sting and Peter Gabriel on the Amnesty International “Human Rights Now” tour.
	1989:Bruce and the E Street Band part ways.
	1991:He marries his band mate Patti Scialfa. They will have three children.
	1992:"Human Touch� and Lucky Town� are two albums released and debut at No. 2 and No. 3, respectively.
	1994:Bruce pens �Streets of Philadelphia� for the movie, Philadelphia. The song wins an Academy Award.
	1995:The band temporarily reunites to record four songs.
	1998:Bruce releases �Tracks� a box set of unreleased recordings from 1972 on.
	1999:He is inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
	1999:The band reunites again, this time long enough to kick off another reunion tour.
	2002:In the wake of 9/11, Bruce and his band release The Rising.
	2003:A collection of his greatest hits is released in The Essential Bruce Springsteen.
	2004:The Vote for Change tour is the last we saw of the entire E Street Band...
	2007:Magic hit stores in October
	2007:The Boss wins three Grammys.
	2008:Dan Federici passes away at age 58 from a long battle with melanoma.
	2008:Springsteen is inducted into the New Jersey Hall of Fame.
