Louisville Zoo's Komodo Dragon Euthanized

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The Louisville Zoo says goodbye to a giant lizard.

The 23-year-old Komodo dragon known as "Big Man" was euthanized this week after zoo staff noticed the lizard was having difficulty moving around in his enclosure.   

They suspected a compressive spinal cord lesian in the neck."Big Man" was nearly eight feet long and came to the Louisville Zoo in 1994.    

He was the second oldest Komodo dragon in North America.
