JCPS' Superintendent to Resign

LOUIVILLE, Ky. -- Jefferson County Public Schools is on the look-out for a new Superintendent.

Dr. Donna Hargens announced at special meeting that she would be resigning from her position as JCPS' Superintendent, saying her "approach to implementing the strategic plan for JCPS no longer aligns with the board’s approach."

Hargens has been under scrutiny after the Kentucky Department of Education ordered an audit of JCPS, claiming there was "inefficient management".

Hargens was first hired in 2011 and renewed her contract in 2015.

Her resignation is effective July 1.
