Governor Ceremonially Signs Opioid Legislation

FRANKFORT, Ky. -- Governor Bevin ceremonially signs legislation aimed at combatting Kentucky's opioid epidemic.

One measure prevents doctors from prescribing more than a three-day supply of opioid painkillers, with some exceptions.    It also increases penaltities for trafficking in fentanyl and carfentanil.

Another bill seeks to reduce overdose deaths by strengthening regulations and information sharing capabilities for pharmacies.
