LOUISVILLE, Ky -- Best advice for this weekend...expect some major delays along I-65 south downtown. A six mile section of I-65 south will be shut down from 8:00 p.m. Friday through 5:00 a.m. Monday September 11th.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet's Andrea Clifford says the portion of interstate is undergoing two major renovations. A "high friction" surface is being applied in "hospital curve" and asphalt pavement joints are being removed and replaced as well.
The stretch of road runs from I-64 downtown to the Watterson Expressway...detours will be marked. I-65 north will get the same treatment during a weekend in October.
