LMPD Arrests Three In Major Car Break-In Ring

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- LMPD says its cracked a major theft ring downtown.

Officers arrested Laquisha Beals, Jordan Cotten and Derrica Burnett after connecting them to at least 60 car break-ins near Waterfront Park and Slugger Field.

The three are accused of taking purses, credit cards and guns from the cars and then using the credit cards to buy $22,000 in gift cards from area Kroger stores.

The thefts happened between February and September of this year, mostly downtown with some in the Old Louisville and Highlands areas.

Detectives are still looking for the ring leader of the operation, Jermaine Hornbeak, and are still checking other open cases to see if the group may be responsible.
