NCAA Suspends UofL's Walz for 1 Tournament Game

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The NCAA is punishing University of Louisville women's basketball coach Jeff Walz for using foul language during a game.

The NCAA says Walz directed "inappropriate comments and profane language" toward the scorer's table during UofL's loss to Mississippi State in last season's Final Four.

In addition to a public reprimand, Walz has been issued a one-game postseason suspension.   The NCAA is also withholding Walz's Final Four per diem allowance.

The organization noted that Walz has been reprimanded multiple times in the past, including in 2011 for similar behavior.

Walz issued a statement apologizing for his actions.
