World War II History Flying Into Southern Indiana This Weekend

JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. -- A piece of World War II history is flying into southern Indiana this weekend.

The Liberty Foundation is bringing their Boeing B-17 bomber to the Clark County Airport for tours and rides as part of a nationwide tour.

The plane is one of about a dozen out of the over 12,700 produced that is still flying. The Liberty Foundation's plane was produced towards the end of the war and did not see combat but was configured and ready to go if needed.

The group says the plane is meant to offer veterans a chance to share their war experiences with younger generations and to expose kids to American history.

The plane will be at the airport Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.
