Chinese Ambassador, Governor Bevin Discuss Trade

FRANKFORT, Ky. -- China's top diplomat in the United States makes a stop in Kentucky.

Chinese Ambassador to the U.S. Cui Tinakai spent Monday night meeting with Governor Bevin with trade as the prime item on the agenda.

The meeting comes less than ten days before a new set of Chinese tariffs on American goods kicks in on soybeans and Kentucky whiskey and bourbon among other things.

Both Bevin and Tinakai agree the countries need to build solid relationships on an individual level.

During the visit, Bevin said he would make a trip to Shanghai this November to attend the China International Import Expo.
