Four Teens Killed Helping Stranded Driver

CORTLAND, Ind. -- Four Indiana teenagers are dead and four more injured after a weekend crash in Jackson County.

Police say a car broke down on State Road 258 Saturday night. That is when the eight teenagers came outside to help push the vehicle home when they were struck from behind by an SUV driven by 24 year old Elizabeth Watson of Seymour. Three of the teens died at the scene and one was airlifted to an Indianapolis hospital and died on arrival. Three others were airlifted to hospitals in unknown condition and one was transported for treatment and was released. 

Another juvenile who was riding in the broken-down vehicle was also taken to the hospital for treatment and released.
