Fischer Starts Third Term With Sense Of Urgency

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Mayor Greg Fischer kicks off his third term with a sense of urgency.

Fischer is pledging a "fierce sense of urgency" for his third and final term, making equity, education and tech development the top three priorities.

In the 20 minute address, Fischer said he's putting a 100 day plan in place similar to what he did in his first term to show the urgency of his policy agenda.

As part of the 100 day plan, Fischer is putting forth 11 points, two of which focus on public safety and one addresses the homeless population.

Fischer also called for increased education partnerships between Metro Government and both JCPS and the University of Louisville along with the city's two year colleges.

Prior to Fischer taking the oath, the new and re-elected members of the Metro Council and other elected officials were administered their oath of office.
