Gov. Bevin Slams Mayor Fischer Prior To Tax Increase Proposal

(Frankfort, KY) - Governor Matt Bevin is blasting Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer over his proposed tax increases on insurance premiums.

Prior to Fischer's announcement Wednesday, Bevin wrote him a letter asking how he could have been "oblivious" to Kentucky's ongoing pension crisis.

During his announcement Fischer blamed Frankfort for not giving Louisville tools and flexibility to deal with the rising pension increases being imposed.

Mayor Fischer says the tax increases are the best option he has to avoid painful cuts due to a $ 65 million budget gap over the next four years.
