(Frankfort, KY) - Kentucky transportation officials want money to look at building a highway that would bypass Louisville.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to ask the state for $5 million to study the potential bypass.

The highway would connect I-65 in Bullitt County to I-71 in either Oldham or Henry County.

The agency is expected to make a funding request next year.
