Judge In Murder Case Of LMPD Detective Promises Fair Trial

(Louisville, KY) - The judge in the case of an LMPD detective killed on the job is promising a fair trial.

The Jefferson Circuit Court judge made the statement Tuesday during a pretrial conference in the murder case against Roger Burdette.

Burdette is accused of being under the influence of prescription drugs when his MSD semi-truck slammed into the back of Detective Deirdre Mengedoht's cruiser on Christmas Eve.

The judge made the comment while the courtroom was filled with LMPD officers, including Chief Steve Conrad.
