JCPS Superintendent Reacts To School Resource Officer Contract Vote

(Louisville, KY) - Jefferson County Public Schools superintendent Dr. Marty Pollio says the district is working on "Plan B" for school security.

Pollio made the comment Wednesday, one day after the Jefferson County Board of Education failed to approve contracts for nearly a dozen school resource officers.

A few weeks ago, nearly 20 LMPD officers who provided security at JCPS facilities were recalled to the streets by the department due to budget cuts.

Pollio says the district had been planning to develop its own security force, but now it will have to be done much quicker.
