Loops At Cherokee, Iroquois Parks Reopening To Traffic

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The scenic routes that loop through Iroquois and Cherokee Parks are reopening.

Rundill Road in Iroquois Park is reopening for vehicles effective immediately.

Cherokee Park's Scenic Loop, however, must still undergo some renovations, including traffic control measures, signage and painted lines in some areas before reopening. Vehicle access to the Hogan’s Fountain and Rugby Field areas of Cherokee Park will be restored under a new plan in mid-June.

Both roads were closed at the beginning of the pandemic to allow for more social distancing.

According to Louisville Parks officials, usage of both Cherokee and Iroquois Parks has increased 80% since the scenic route closures.
